Amount: Varies

Interest: 4.5% fixed for undergraduate loans disbursed after July 1, 2010; 6.8% fixed for graduate loans disbursed after July 1, 2010

If your FAFSA indicates you have a financial need, you may be eligible for a Subsidized Federal Direct Student Loan. The interest on Subsidized Federal Direct Student Loans is paid by the government while you are in school and for up to 6 months after you graduate or leave school, at which point you must begin repaying your loan.

First time borrowers of subsidized and unsubsidized loans must complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov.

You will be automatically considered for a Subsidized Direct Student Loan when you submit your FAFSA.
