FAFSA for Free Application for Federal Student Aid

To apply for a Federal Direct Student Loan or Graduate Plus Loan, a 2012 - 2013 FAFSA should be completed no later than June 1 for enrollment in the fall semester or November 1 for enrollment in the spring.
First time borrowers of Federal Direct Student Loans or Grad PLUS loans must complete the appropriate Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov.
Under the Unsubsidized Federal Direct Student Loan program, graduate students enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester can borrow up to $20,500 per academic year. Students do not have to demonstrate financial need to apply for an Unsubsidized Federal Direct Student Loan.
Under the Graduate PLUS Loan program, graduate students enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester can borrow the difference between the cost of education less any scholarships, grants, employer reimbursement, or other loans received.
