Federal regulations require students to make "satisfactory academic progress" in order to continue receiving assistance under these programs:
Students at Marywood must meet the following standards in order to receive financial aid each academic year. Both the earned credit requirement and cumulative QPA requirement must be met.
Students enrolled for 12 or more credits per semester must earn at least 12 credits per semester to achieve the required 24 credits for the academic year.
Students enrolled for 9 to 11.5 credits per semester must earn at least 9 credits per semester to achieve the required 18 credits for the academic year.
Students enrolled for 6 to 8.5 credits per semester must earn at least 6 credits per semester to achieve the required 12 credits for the academic year.
| Freshmen | 1.7 QPA |
| Sophomores | 2.0 QPA |
| Juniors | 2.0 QPA |
| Seniors | 2.0 QPA |
Credits to improve a student's QPA can only be earned by completing classes at Marywood.
Students who fail to meet Marywood's "satisfactory academic progress" requirements are not eligible for federal financial aid until the deficiency has been resolved. Special circumstances such as illness, a death in the family, or other serious matters should be reported in writing to the Director of Financial Aid.
Deficiencies may be resolved by attendance at summer school or other sessions without financial aid. Students must notify the Office of Financial Aid in writing when the deficiencies have been resolved and request that their financial aid be reinstated.
Marywood scholarships and grants are renewable for a maximum of eight (8) full-time semesters (Fall/Spring only), if the recipient maintains good academic standing and meets Marywood's conduct standards.
| Marywood Scholars | 3.25 QPA Cumulative |
| I.H.M. & Endowed Scholarships | 3.0 QPA Cumulative |
| Marywood Grants | 2.5 QPA Cumulative |
