This minor provides an opportunity to think critically about past and present society through the lens of gender. The women's studies minor enables students to develop greater awareness of the rich contributions women have made throughout history. It is an interdisciplinary program that examines gender roles in contemporary society and encourages students to consider ways to eliminate discrimination at home and abroad.
The minor requires students to complete 18 credits, including an integrating seminar. In addition, students must take courses from at least two different disciplines. Most women's studies courses also meet Marywood's core curriculum requirements.
