Dr. Laurie McMillan Leads Journalism Bootcamp

Dr. Laurie McMillan coordinated a Journalism Bootcamp with two day-long workshops for students, funded through a cooperative grant with Marywood and the University of Scranton. Day one, at Marywood University, featured a presentation by Al Tompkins from the Ponter Institute. Day two, at the University of Scranton, included journalists and staff members from The Scranton Times.

Lauren Tyrell Wins Writing Contest

Lauren Tyrrell '09 has won not one but two awards in the national Delta Epsilon Sigma writing contest!

Lauren won First Prize in the category "Expository, Informal" for her essay "Failure to Perk" and Second Prize in the category "Expository, Research" for her essay "Manifesto: Manifesting the Ideology of Wendell Berry."
