Batt Burns Visits Marywood
Batt Burns, a "seanchai," or Irish storyteller, performed on Tuesday, October 2, at 7 p.m., in the Comerford Theater, Science Building. At 6:30 p.m., students who participated in a recent study abroad trip across Ireland with two faculty members hosted a panel discussion about their experiences.
Lindsey Wotanis, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Communication Arts Department, along with Laurie McMillian, Ph.D., associate professor, who chairs the English Department, met Burns this summer while in Ireland.
"We had the pleasure of working with Burns last summer," said Dr. Wotanis. "The students loved him, and we thought he was great, too. That prompted us to see if he would be interested in performing at the university."
