Rubric for Study Guides

UNDERSTANDING: DEPTH 0 1 2 3

Probes deeply; delves below the surface; doesn't just summarize plot or characters
Shows evidence of original thinking; doesn't parrot text or class notes
Avoids generalities

UNDERSTANDING: PRECISION 0 1 2 3

Offers insightful, plausible observations
Shows reasonable accuracy in using terminology, discussing events, paraphrasing ideas, etc.

EVIDENCE 0 1 2 3

Provides convincing, specifics, and logical support (examples, reasoning) for assertions and hypotheses (where applicable).

CLARITY 0 1 2 3

Though you need not write grammatically perfect paragraphs (or even full sentences), I should be able to follow what you are saying with relative ease. Excessive grammar and spelling errors and non-standard phrasings make this difficult, as do very fragmented lists/sequences and underdeveloped explanations.
