I graduated from Marywood in 2008 with BS in Special Education and dual certification in Special and Elementary Education. After graduation from Marywood, I began work on my Master’s degree in Special Education at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. While pursuing Master’s, I also was able to obtain my Early Childhood certification. In 2010, I graduated from Monmouth with a MSEd in Special Education. From 2011-2012, I worked at Alternative Paths Training School in Alexandria, Virginia. There, I had the opportunity to work with students with Autism, Emotional Disorders, Multiple Disabilities, and Behavior Disorders in a private, day-school setting and hone my skills in behavior and classroom management. In December 2012, I moved back to New Jersey and accepted my current position at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School in Somerset. I am now teaching third grade in the general education setting. Additionally, I am the Special Education Coordinator for my school. My responsibilities not only include teaching the core subjects in my third grade classroom, but I also provide inclusion support to the special education student in my school and coordinate all meetings, testing, and write all IEPs for the students on my case load. I can honestly say I love what I do and look forward to going to work each day. Teaching has been a very rewarding experience for me and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the range of students that I have worked with in my career up until this point. Marywood was a great experience for me and I am thankful for everything I learned during my four years of study.
