Field experience is a required component of Marywood's education programs. It provides students with first-hand experience in the real world of classroom teaching.
Education students are required to participate in a field placement (urban, suburban, or rural) every semester from freshman through senior year.
Students must accumulate at least 190 field hours before student teaching. This includes a minimum of 12 weeks of pre-student teaching.
No student is allowed to complete a field placement without all current clearances on file in the Field Office.
