Benefactor Spotlight

Robert and Ann O’Neill Nolan ’52, The Marywood Legacy Society

Ann O’Neill Nolan and Robert Nolan

Robert and Ann O’Neill Nolan have been part of the Marywood family in one form or another for more than 60 years.  Ann has been an active volunteer at her alma mater, serving as a Marywood Fund alumni volunteer for many years and is a recipient of the Sr. M. Denis Donegan Award for Lifetime Service to Marywood.  Bob served on the University’s Board of Trustees from 1970 through 1976, including a term as Chair of the Board.

Charter members of the Marywood Legacy Society, Bob, the retired owner of a regional engineering firm, and Ann, a Home Economics major, both understand the importance of order and planning.  When it came to planning their estate they made certain Marywood was included.  “It’s important to have your estate in order, and a charitable gift annuity is an easy, logical way to handle your affairs.  We are benefiting from this annuity during our lifetime, while providing for the future of Marywood University after we’re gone.”

The Marywood Legacy Society honors those benefactors who have established planned gifts with Marywood University or who have named Marywood as a beneficiary in their estate plans, either through a bequest, deferred pledge agreement, trust, gift annuity, pooled income fund, life insurance policy, or retirement account.
