Dr. Douglas Arnold is the superintendent of the Pleasant Valley School
District. He received his doctoral degree with a specialization
in education administration from Marywood University, where he received
the McGowan Medal for Excellence in Doctoral Studies. He has been a
public school educator for 30 years, having taught special education,
mathematics, math remediation, and social studies. He also served
in a variety of administrative roles. Dr. Arnold has worked with
students with exceptionalities ranging from the mentally retarded to
the mentally gifted. He is the president of the Pennsylvania
Association of Pupil Services Administrators.
