The Department offers both a major and minor in Religious Studies. For the major in Religious Studies, 36 credit hours are required. The following courses are required for all majors, regardless of concentration:
Under faculty advisement, a major has the option of pursuing one of two areas of concentration. Concentration I: For majors who, upon graduation, intend to engage in some form of church ministry (e.g., as Religious Education Directors, Teachers of Religion, Youth Ministers). Courses required for Concentration I are:
Concentration II: For majors desiring to concentrate their study in the Christian tradition. Courses required for Concentration II are:
Both concentrations prepare a student for graduate work. Majors are encouraged to complement their studies with specific cognate courses from other departments that relate to their particular interests and needs. For the minor in Religious Studies, 18 credit hours are required. The suggested course of study for the minor includes the following courses:
