GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants to the graduate program in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science are required to have at least one year of anatomy and physiology and one chemistry course from an accredited undergraduate institution. Other individuals are encouraged to apply with the understanding that they must take and successfully complete various undergraduate courses as prerequisites to satisfy the departmental admissions committee. Degree candidates are required to complete 45 credit hours of study.

Twenty-four credits must come from the common core. The additional twenty-one credits may be selected from various electives (See course listings) and the research sequence. In addition to the required courses, the candidate must successfully complete and defend an original research project as a masters thesis. After consultation with the Chairperson, students will be assigned a member of the Nutrition and Dietetics faculty as a mentor. The mentor will work with the candidate on an individual basis throughout the research project.
