The graduate degree in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science is an interdisciplinary program that combines and integrates the fields of nutrition and exercise science to professionally prepare students for careers that focus on maximizing athletic performance and/or the prevention and control of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. The program combines classroom learning and research opportunities in Marywood's state-of-the-art Human Performance Lab.

The Human Performance Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Ken Rundell, formerly of the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center, includes equipment that measures and tests aerobic capacity, anaerobic power, strength, bone density, airway function, and body composition, as well as a biochemistry lab and climate control room.
