B.S.N.
Degree Requirements
The nursing program consists of 127 credits, 55 of
which are nursing credits.
Completion of the program is evidenced
by completing, at Marywood University, the senior
level courses (NURS 430, 431, 432, 433 and
316.) The student must obtain 60 credits at
Marywood University.
To
be considered for retention, progression and
graduation, students must maintain a 2.50 QPA or
better in the cognate courses and the nursing
courses which comprise the nursing major. A
minimum of 2.00 QPA is required in the liberal arts
courses not designated as cognate courses. In
addition, the student must obtain a 2.0 ("C") or better
in each course designated as a cognate course, and
in each nursing course. Students who do not
achieve a satifactory grade in a nursing or cognate course may
repeat one nursing or cognate course one time only, space
permitting. This course must be taken at Marywood University.
Courses in the nursing major must be
scheduled in their proper sequence. This
requires nursing faculty advisement before each
registration period.
The Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing has granted
approval for this program. In addition, the
program is accredited by the National League for
Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Upon
graduation with the bachelor of science in nursing
degree, graduates not previously licensed to
practice nursing will be eligible to apply to take
the registered nurse licensure
examination.
