Program Opportunities

5 Reasons You'll Want to Specialize in Information Sciences:

  1. It's flexible. The Marywood I.S. program includes flexible options and degrees, with specialized tracks to meet your educational and professional goals. Whether you want an M.S. degree to launch your career, an advanced certificate to enhance your technology skills, or a Pennsylvania Department of Education certification, you'll get the training and knowledge you need.
  2. You have options. Information professionals have the expertise necessary to manage and use information in a wide variety of careers. Organizations in business, education, science, government, and industry increasingly depend on specialists who can connect people and knowledge, including librarians, communications officers, or e-business managers.
  3. It's affordable! With the right combination of financial aid from government grants, your employer, or Marywood University scholarships, this highly valued degree could cost you next to nothing!
  4. You'll gain practical leadership experience. You'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of professional settings. Depending on your specialization, your internship can include opportunities in education, business, health care, government, science, or media environments in regional or national locations. Additionally, through relationships with prestigious universities abroad, you can pursue international internships.
  5. Your skills will be in high demand. In the age of the information superhighway and multimedia technology, the talents of skilled information professionals are in high demand. A master's degree in Information Sciences will increase your value in this growing industry, giving you the leverage you need to take charge of your career.
