YOUR DEGREE

Fewer than half of high school students in the United States are
enrolled in a foreign language class.

As business, government and communities require additional personnel
capable of communicating with non-English speakers, this percentage will increase resulting in even greater shortages of foreign language teachers. Over the past five years Marywood’s foreign language secondary education majors all found teaching jobs their first year.

Almost ninety percent of Marywood’s language majors are currently employed using their language skills.

The business world, government, social services, and schools all recognize the importance of second language acquisition and are seeking employees with language skills and rewarding them financially. Enjoy a competitive edge; major or minor in a foreign language at Marywood.
