Aviation Management Program: The Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (BBA) with an The pilot ground instruction is offered at the Marywood University Campus. Marywood University is an FAA approved FAR Part 141 ground school. The Flight Operations are arranged through an exclusive contract with Tech Aviation located at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Tech Aviation is a FAA Part 141 approved flight school with FAR Part 135 Charter Operation.
If you have flight training and have achieved any of the aforementioned FAA Ratings upon enrollment, you will receive Marywood University credits in the appropriate ratings area. Likewise, if you are transferring from a community college with an Associate's Degree in Aviation Management, you are expected to have successfully completed all of the required ratings. A maximum of 20 credits will be accepted for these ratings. Why Marywood University's Program? Marywood is the only institution in the region offering a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management in which you can earn a combination of Aviation Management with a Business degree. Pilots working in the field today find that having a Business degree is a great asset to their professional career advancement opportunities. Through Marywood's program, you train at an FAR 141 approved ground and flight school. The flight training includes a controlled airspace environment that brings a combination of instrument approaches with commercial traffic. The faculty involved in the program are seasoned professionals with extensive flight experience. In addition, a designated piolt examiner serves as a member of the aviation faculty. Note: Students seeking this major must successfully pass a general medical examination from an FAA approved physician. It is each student's responsibility to arrange for this exam and have the results placed in his/her school record. Students who do not have a FAA approved medical exam will not be allowed to fly until such an exam is on file. In addition, the student must note that there are additional costs associated with this major that are related to the student's number of flying hours.
