Mr. David Bruhn (MU'06) graduated magna cum
laude in Biotechnology with a minor degree in Chemistry and
received the Philip E. Mulry Medal for Excellence in
Chemistry for his academic achievements. Mr. Bruhn was
active in many on-campus clubs, including the Biology Club
and the Student Affiliate Chapter of the American Chemical
Society of which he was club President. As an undergraduate
student Mr. Bruhn conducted research in the area of genomics
and is now enrolled at the Molecular and Cellular Biology
Doctoral Program at the University of
Massachusetts-Amherst. Mr. Dustin O'Keefe (MU'05) graduated summa
cum laude in Biology (Pre-Professional) with a minor degree
in Chemistry and received the Philip E. Mulry Medal for
Excellence in Chemistry for his academic achievements. Mr.
O'Keefe was active in many on-campus clubs and served as a
chemistry and biology tutor in the Academic Excellence
Center. As an undergraduate student Mr. O'Keefe conducted a
two-year research project in the area of organometallic
chemistry while working part-time at Northeast Eye Institute
in Scranton, PA., where he assisted eye-care patients and a
variety of ophthalmologists in the office. He was accepted
to five (5) Medical Schools for the Fall 2007 semester, and
has chosen to attend Temple University Medical School. Ms. Rebecca Ryals (MU'04) graduated summa
cum laude with a G.P.A. of 4.0 in Environmental Science. She
was valedictorian of her graduating class and the recipient
of many scholarly awards. Ms. Ryals completed a research
project entitled, A Novel Sampling Technique to Assess the
Removal of MTBE From a Contaminated Water Source. Ms. Ryals
went on to earn a Master's degree from Duke University and
is now a Graduate student in a Doctoral Program at Berkeley
University of California. Ms. Laura Wisniewski (MU'03) graduated magna cum laude in Biology (Pre-Professional) with a minor degree in Chemistry and was the recipient of the Sister M. Sylvia Morgan Metal for Pre-Medical Studies. Ms. Wisniewski participated in a genomic research project and assisted with the preparation of several biology and chemistry laboratories while at Marywood University. After graduation, she decided to pursue Veterinary Medicine and was accepted recently to the University of Illinois.
