Jay P. Clymer III, Ph.D. Associate
Professor of Biology Educational Background: B.S. University of Rhode Island; M.S., Ph.D. Lehigh University Teaching Interests: environmental science, resource conservation, environmental management and policy, ecology of stream and marsh ecosystems; trophic dynamics Research Activities and Interests: Presently, Dr. Clymer is working from a private research grant to assess the quantity of volatile organic compounds and nutrient substances present in three mesotrophic lakes of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The water quality will be tested in correlation to boat traffic on the lakes and the incidence of cancer among lake residents. Dr. Clymer received a grant from the Wetlands Institute to study fish of the Hereford Inlet in New Jersey; he also serves on the board of directors of the Lackawanna Conservation District and the County Conservation District. He is chairman on the County Committee of Environmental Education and a member of the Chesapeake Bay Program Committee. Presentation: November 2001.
