(during Sexual Assault Awareness Month)

Marywood University joins in the national effort in providing its "Release the Light" Sexual Assault Awareness Program. April is designated as National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and communities and colleges across the nation will be joining together against crimes of sexual abuse. The purpose is to increase student and community awareness for the need of violence prevention and reducing incidents of sexual assault on college campuses and in the community.

This year's program will be an outdoor fair, with "EJ the DJ" bringing interactive music.  There will be lively games, including a bounce house, speakers, free food, and lots of information on healthy relationships and sexual assault prevention.   There will once again be a Let Your Feet Speak mile March through campus.  New this year is a "Release the Light" bonfire at the close of the program.

Chartwells and other local businesses will donate an assortment of food (hot dogs, desserts, drinks, and snacks) to this event.   All students, faculty, and staff are welcome!

Groups and Organizations Participating:

Marywood departments involved are Counseling/Student Development Center, RAE, POW!, Music Therapy, MUSATA, Diversity Club, Caritas, School Psychology Students, Psychology Club, Psychological Services Center, and Red Dragon Karate.  The Women's Resource Center and Jane Kopas Women's  Center will also participate.
