December Holiday Social. A nice break right before final exams, the CSD Department and Students exchange small gifts, enjoy some great treats, and enjoy each other's company. This year, following the social, students went caroling in the neighborhood. The students visited clients from the clinic and individuals who attend our Aphasia Group.
End of Semester Dinner. An annual rite of spring for the CSD department, this is a great time to visit with other students in the department, get to know the faculty and staff a little better, and enjoy a wonderful meal.
Bone Marrow Drive in Memory of David Lavelle. CSD students volunteered their time to help with a bone marrow drive on the Marywood University. The students took DNA samples from volunteer donors for submission to the national marrow registry, assisting the donor's with registration and documentation

Africa in 2008. CSD students Moira Pope and Nina DePalma joined Marywood University Campus Ministry's service trip to Africa, teaching English to teenage girls at a school affiliated with the African Sisters Education Collaborative.

Head Start. CSD undergraduate and graduate students recently took part in a community service project for Head Start, a regional agency supporting education for underserved children. Our CSD students completed hundreds of speech-language and hearing screenings for the children enrolled at the centers.
Each semester the Speech and Hearing Clinic holds a party for the children who attend our clinic and for the community. The fall harvest party is always a big success. All the children come in costume, participate in the games and activities, and scare their way through the "haunted" clinic rooms!
