Ronald McDonald House Donation

The Speech and Hearing Club is an affiliation of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA), a professional membership association for students enrolled in a communication sciences program or related majors.  Over the past two years club members raised funds via Cold Stone Creamery and Ruby Tuesdays nights.  Funds collected have been used to purchase $450 worth of items from the Ronald McDonald House Wish List and include such items as kitchen, laundry, and guest helpers (e.g., Clorox wipes, paper towels, dish detergent, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) as well as DVDs and toys for children staying with family at the Ronald McDonald House or utilizing the Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms.
As club advisor I am happy to see our students use their fundraising efforts to support the community.  The mission of the Ronald McDonald House is “to provide a home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children in area Medical Facilities” and it warms the heart knowing that our students and everyone who supported them are playing even a small part  in helping to create a home for those that are away from theirs.
