Laura Drake Honored

Laura Drake, Tafton, was recently informed that she is a 2014 recipient of the Member Honors Award from the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA). This award is in recognition of her outstanding service to students involved in NSSLHA and her role as a future leader in the profession of Speech-Language Pathology. Laura was presented with a certificate, honor cord to wear at graduation, and a complimentary registration to attend the 2014 ASHA Convention in Orlando, FL. In addition, Laura was informed that she was the recipient of the 2014 Northeastern Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Pennsylvania Scholarship. Laura was awarded $1000 scholarship to be used toward her education in some manner such as for the purchase of course related or professional books, speech-language pathology tests or therapy materials or payment toward tuition. In order to be eligible students must be a first or second semester Junior majoring in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology; must be attending Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, Misericordia, or Marywood University; must be a member of local or national NSSLHA chapters; and must be a full-time student with at least a 3.3 QPA. This is the fourth year in a row that a Marywood student has won this scholarship.
