I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Marywood University and my Master of Arts Degree from Edinboro University. I am a PA licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I am currently the Chairperson and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition to these roles, I also supervise student clinicians in the Marywood University Speech-Language and Hearing Clinics, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and am the advisor for the Marywood Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Courses taught include Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism to undergraduate students and Independent Study in Clinical Methods and Processes as well as Professional Issues in SLP to graduate students. My clinical areas of interest lie in adult cognition/neurogenics, supervision, phonology, and swallowing disorders.

Andrea Novak, Chairperson in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, has given presentations entitled Dysphagia - Diagnosis and Treatment at the Nutritional Support Workshop sponsored by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as Speech-Language-Hearing Development at the Family Place Workshops sponsored by the Scranton Public Library - Greenridge Branch. In addition, she was a presenter at the Mid Valley School District's Annual Job Shadow Day as well as the NEPA Career and College Counseling Associates' Career and College Summer Boot Camp.
