Adam Shprintzen, Ph.D.

In September 2018, Dr. Shprintzen published his essay, "Food in 20th-Century American Cities" in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of American History. The article can be found at: http://oxfordre.com/americanhistory/view/10.1093/acrefore/9780199329175.001.0001/acrefore-9780199329175-e-547
In addition, he will be presenting his research on classroom public history projects at the annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians in Philadelphia in April.
In the classroom, students from Dr. Shprintzen's Fall 2018 Food in American History course created digital history entries on mapping project, TheClio. For an example, see: https://theclio.com/web/entry?id=71287
Students also presented their research on food memories, such as the rice pudding recipe passed down in student Deanna Charpentier's family, as pictured here.  Lastly, students toured the Susquehanna Brewing Company Brewery in Pittston, PA.
