Kevin Phillips earns PhD in Integrative Physiology
Class of 2012
Kevin Phillips '12 became the second student to graduate from Michigan Tech with a PhD in Integrative Physiology.
Kevin was one of two students transferred into the program during its inaugural 2017-2018 year. He successfully defended his dissertation: “The Influence of Temperature on Neuromuscular Fatigue and Prefrontal Cortex Activation During Upper Extremity Exercise” on April 1st, 2019.
Kevin received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Marywood in 2012. He also earned his Masters in Exercise Science from Northern Michigan University in 2015. According to Michigan Tech's Kinesiology and Integrative Physiology blog, Kevin is currently pursuing an exercise science assistant professor position and "hopes to continue his research on the influence of temperature alterations on brain perception and regulation of fatiguing exercise."
