Teacher Education Committee

Purpose & Function

The Teacher Education Committee:

  • Provides a forum for disseminating information regarding teacher education
  • Considers curricular implications of educational theory and certification regulations
  • Advises the Education Department re implementation of procedures such as admission screening, clearance for student teaching, and testing.

Membership

Dean, College of Professional Studies
All faculty from the education department
One faculty representative of each certification program area
Director of Professional Education Field Experience
Certification officer

Consultant:
Assistant Provost

Faculty are appointed by the chairs of their respective departments.

Term

Two years with possibility of reappointment.

Meetings

Meetings are held at least once a semester.

    07/01/18 - Title changed from Vice President for Academic Affairs to Provost.  Title changed from Associate VP for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness to Assistant Provost.  Name of college changed from Reap College of Education and Human Development to College of Professional Studies due to academic college restructuring.
