Graduate Scholarship Committee

Purpose & Function:

The Graduate Scholarship Committee

  • establishes criteria for eligibility for Marywood graduate level IHM scholarships as incentives for achieving recruitment and admission goals;
  • selects recipients of Marywood graduate level IHM scholarships;
  • investigates the need for increased scholarships support to maintain graduate enrollment;
  • recommends financial and policy changes as appropriate.

Membership & Selection:

Director of Financial Aid
Two faculty members from each college
Assistant to the Director, School of Social Work
One faculty member from the School of Social Work
One faculty member from the School of Architecture

Resource persons:
Director of University Admissions
Associate Director of Graduate Admissions
Coordinator of Enrollment Management
Vice President for Enrollment Management

Subcommittee for doctoral programs:
Directors of doctoral programs
Director of Financial Aid
Two faculty from the full committee

Faculty representation of colleges is determined by the Dean of each college.
Faculty representation of the School of Social Work is determined by the Director.
Faculty representation of the School of Archicture is determined by the Dean of the School of Architecture.

The Chair is elected by the members of the Committee.

Term:

Faculty members serve three-year terms with possibility of reappointment.

Meetings:

Meetings are held monthly during peak recruitment seasons. Additional meetings may be called by the Chair.

History:

03/20/03 - Revision approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs
08/04/06 - The title of Coordinator of Advising and Data Systems was changed to Manager of Enrollment Data and Systems.
05/22/07 - Faculty term was changed from two years to three years by the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs.
03/01/08 - Title change to Vice President for Enrollment Management
05/06/08 - Title change to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
03/26/09 - Changes to membership approved by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
07/01/11 - Title change to Vice President for Academic Affairs
07/01/12 - Title change from Coordinator of Graduate Affairs to Coordinator of Enrollment Management; title change from Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions to Associate DIrector of Graduate Admissions approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs
