Distance Education and e-Learning Committee

Purpose and Function
The Distance Education and e-Learning Committee advises the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs for Technology by

recommending distance education and e-learning initiatives;
coordinating distance education and e-learning activities with the University's curriculum committees when relevant;
supporting the efforts of the colleges by developing infrastructures to assist in program delivery;
coordinating activities with CAPE, Center for Advancing Partnerships in Education, and other groups;
investigating and pursuing grant writing activities in the distance education and e-learning market.

Membership and Selection
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs for Technology (Chair)
Academic deans
Coordinator of Instructional Technology Services
Coordinator of Media and Distance Education
Coordinator of Broadcast Operations
One full-time faculty member from each college

Faculty members are appointed by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Term
Faculty - two years with possibility of reappointment

Meetings
Meetings are held at least twice a year.

04/16/08 – Change made to reflect that Coordinator of  Instructional Technology Services and Coordinator of Distance Education were combined with the title Coordinator of Media and Distance Education
