Meetings

During 2003-2004, two meetings of the Commencement Speakers Committee were held. In addition, e-mail communications were sent to Committee members.

The minutes were taken and distributed by Patti Munley-Cerda, Executive Secretary. Information on the speaker candidates was sent to all Committee members prior to the meetings.


Accomplishments

Nominations of speakers were solicited from students through student representatives, from faculty through faculty representatives and from the President's Cabinet. The Director of Prospect Research researched suggested persons for fit with University core values.

After thorough reviews of the information on each speaker candidate, a prioritized list was prepared and presented to the President of the University for her review and final decision regarding the speaker.
