Date: August 15, 2020
Location: Marywood University
Graduating students will be divided into different categories to allow for multiple ceremonies on campus on August 15, 2020. These designations will be determined and communicated in the beginning of June.
Each ceremony will last for approximately one hour. Graduates are expected to remain for the entire ceremony and formal student graduation recognition will occur at the end of each ceremony.
A university administrator will announce the student’s name, degree, and appropriate honors. If social distance permits, students will proceed across a stage for a photo op and personal recognition at that time.
Seniors will receive their cap, gowns, and hoods via the mail.
Caps and gowns were processed and mailed on May 21, 2020. There will be no cost to the student for mailing charges, as previously noted on this website prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
All graduating seniors MUST complete the online Cap and Gown form.
Marywood is happy to provide reasonable accommodations for commencement to students with special needs. Students with special needs are asked to contact the Office of Disability Services at 570-348-6211, x2335, to make the necessary accommodations. A university representative will be available to provide assistance, and a sign language interpreter will be positioned on the right side of the stage.
