Lindsey Wotanis studied journalism at Wilkes University (BA) and the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism (Ph.D.). She also studied rhetoric at Carnegie Mellon University (MA). She combines her interest in journalism, rhetoric, and social media through her research and creative work. At Marywood, she teaches news writing, communication theory, and several other journalism courses. She serves as faculty adviser to The Wood Word, Marywood’s student newspaper, and the Marywood chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists (SCJ). In 2013, she was named Outstanding New Adviser, a national award presented by SCJ. She also serves as a representative on the SCJ National Board. She enjoys reading, writing, and traveling with colleague Laurie McMillan, Ph.D., on study abroad trips.
