An award winning radio station equipped with digital equipment and an adjacent production studio, WVMW-FM is a student managed radio station. Students work as on air talent, reporters and assume other management and production positions, even as Freshmen.

WVMW-FM has won a number of awards as one of the top regional college radio stations. In 2010, the station won national recognition as one of "The 40 Best Little Radio Stations in the Country" by Paste magazine. Featuring alternative music and other music genres, including Rock, Jazz and Christian, WVMW gives students production, on air and management experience.

VMFM 91.7 is Marywood University’s student-run radio station. Earlier this year, VMFM was named “Best College Radio Station” by Electric City magazine for the eighth year in a row. The station is the only station in northeast Pennsylvania with an alternative music format. Student disc jockeys also develop specialized programming, including R&B, country, and talk shows. VMFM is on air 24/7 and also streams online.

Communication arts students can become disc jockeys as early as their freshman year. Students working for VMFM 91.7 will graduate with advanced skills in:

  • Live, on-air performance
  • Programming
  • Show development
  • Copy writing
