On behalf of the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences, welcome to Marywood University! Our College offers a full array of undergraduate programs in the Creative and Performing Arts, the Humanities, the Natural Sciences, and the Social Sciences as well as excellent graduate programs in Art, Art Therapy, Fine Arts, Biotechnology, Communication Arts, and Criminal Justice. We are also the “home” to the University’s Core Curriculum, the Women’s Studies Program, and the Honors Program.
The Faculty members of the College are genuinely committed to the education of our students, and they offer students numerous opportunities to collaborate on research projects and one-on-one inquiries into specific subjects of interest while they complete the requirements for their majors.
While at Marywood, students can further enhance their education by participating in one or more of the University’s national and international service-learning trips and study abroad opportunities. Most of our students also participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; our many clubs, athletic activities, and cultural organizations complement and enhance the academic curriculum in significant ways.
The College of Arts and Sciences offers degrees in a number of areas, including Biology, Biotechnology, Communication Arts, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, Environmental Science, History, Information Security, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Sociology, Spanish, Theatre, and Visual Arts.
Our programs offer Secondary Education/Certification in Biology, English, Mathematics, Music, and Spanish. Students majoring in English, History, Philosophy, and Spanish have gone on to pursue graduate studies in their respective disciplines as well as in law. Our science programs prepare students for the MCAT and medical school. Science majors have also pursued professional degrees in dentistry and chiropractic medicine. Our Comm. Arts, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts majors also go on to successful careers in the creative and performing arts, but also in education, in business, and in public service.
Should you have any questions about our programs, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once again, welcome to Marywood University, and my best wishes to you for a splendid educational experience!
