The Career Services Library holds a variety of publications that address specific employment areas and offer valuable information and helpful tips to students as they prepare for their careers. Career topics include resume writing, interview preparation, occupational information, employer information and guides to assist students who are in the process of research on graduate schools. Also available are publications about Internet employment searches and career information specific to diverse populations. In addition, written and audiovisual materials address topics such as dressing for success and business etiquette.
Full-time, part-time and summer employment openings are made available via our website through College Central. Registration is required and the service is available to Marywood University students and alumni.
Students may maintain a credential file in the Career Services Office. Once complete, this file will be made available on reasonable notice and mailed directly to prospective employers. By using the office as an official third party that collects and sends these credentials, students avoid the inconvenience of contacting a reference person each time they apply for a position.
Each year, college consortium employment fairs offer students and alumni many opportunities to speak with employers about available job openings in business, education, health, human services and other career areas.
Each student has the opportunity to explore career alternatives and the job search process through discussions with the professional staff at the Career Services Office. Graduate school opportunities also can be addressed during these sessions.
Students have the opportunity to schedule mock interview sessions in which they can sharpen self-presentation skills and enhance employment potential. Videotaped or virtual sessions may be scheduled and reviewed with a career coach. Students may then discuss their performance with the counselor and collaborate on improvements. Also, be sure to check out Interviewstream to help you with your interviewing skills at 24-hours a day.
Each year, representatives from business, education and government conduct employment interviews in the Career Services Office. Some of the companies that recruit on campus include: Sodexo, Step-by-Step, The Abington Journal, and AXA Advisors, LLC. On-Campus Recruitment Schedule
