Career Services: Dress for Success

A suit is the best choice!

Gray or navy. Not too bold and not too dark.

Pressed!

At a minimum get some wrinkle releaser before meeting with a potential employer!

Clean and combed hair.

Make sure it's not falling in your face.

Nothing Revealing.

Skin is NOT an accessory.

Keep make-up and jewelry to a minimum.

Nothing too loud or eye-catching.

Low and comfortable shoes.

If you've never walked in the shoes before - practice.

Tuck and belt.

Shirttails shouldn't be seen and if you can see belt loops - use a belt.

Soap is the best scent.

Someone could be allergic to your favorite cologne or perfume.

Professional bag or portfolio.

This makes sure your resume doesn't get wrinkled.

Watch.

Make sure you are aware of time. Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early.

Be comfortable.

You may look great, but if you're not comfortable - it will show!
