ALLY

The ALLY symbol shown above conveys a message to all at Marywood University; the person who chooses to display this symbol will be non-judgmental, understanding, trustworthy, and supportive should anyone need help, advice, or just someone with whom to talk. Diversity enriches our lives and increases our understanding.

Purpose:
Those involved in the ALLY Program wish to identify themselves as individuals willing to provide a safe haven, a listening ear and support, especially for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons. This helps create a campus community in which everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

The two primary goals of ALLY are:

  • To increase the overall campus community's understanding and awareness of all diversity.
  • To provide a greater sense of safety for the gay, lesbian, and bisexual student community.

If you are interested in learning more about the ALLY program or would like to provide more education to a class, floor community in a residence hall, office staff, student club or organization, or other campus group, please contact us.
