Volunteer Opportunity: Baking with the Elderly

Join us on Monday, September 29,  for some baking.  We are baking for some Good Samaritans with residents from Holy Family Residence.  Come to Campus Ministry at 2:15 p.m. or Holy Family Residence at 2:30 p.m.  Contact Natalie Burke, nburke2@m.marywood.edu for more information. 


2nd Annual Turkey Bowl

This year the Turkey Bowl will be Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, 10 a.m., at the turf field.  All proceeds will benefit the Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Family program, for the local community. 

Entry fee is $5.00 per person, or $30 for a team of six (must include 2 females).

Sign-ups will start September 8, outside the Main Dining Room; open to all students, staff and faculty.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Campus Ministry is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, September 29, 2014 from noon to 5 p.m., Latour Room, Nazareth Hall.    Please consider giving the gift of life by donating blood or volunteering your time for the drive.  Contact Mary Roche, (570) 961-4723, mroche@marywood.edu for more information. 


Fall Break Service Trip

 October 11-14 Marywood and the University of Scranton will work together to serve the local area at the Weinberg Food Bank, preparing and serving a meal at Good Shepherd Church, and painting and doing small home improvements with Neighborworks NEPA.  In the evening, participants will stay at Chapman Lake to relax, to share experiences and cook dinner.  Applications and a payment of $30 are due by October 3.  We are still taking names for the waiting list.  Email communityservice@m.marywood.edu.

October/November Cranberry Sauce Challenge!

Let's get a head start on our Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Family program by collecting 200 cans of cranberry sauce before November 11.  Boxes are at Campous Ministry, Human Resources and around campus.


Big Friends/Little Friends - Volunteer Opportunity

Big Friends/Little Friends is an after-school program at Valley View Housing Development. Children need mentors to help them with their homework and plan fun activities. Volunteers are needed on Mondays and/or Thursdays, 2:30-4:40 p.m. Transportation is provided. Help children be the best they can be. Sign up in Campus Ministry, Swartz Center for Spiritual Life.
