Maxis-Gillet 2016-2017

Marywood University is rooted in a long-standing tradition of service to local, national, and international communities.  In addition to providing a variety of service opportunities, Marywood University extends this commitment to community involvement through its Maxis-Gillet Service Award, named in honor of the founders of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother Theresa Maxis, IHM and Father Louis Gillet, CSsR.

A total of twenty $2,500.00 Service Awards are offered annually to full-time undergraduate students, including up to five first year, full-time undergraduate students who already have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and dedication to sustain that service while enrolled at Marywood. Maxis-Gillet Service Scholars are expected to participate in a minimum number of weekly community service hours and to assume a leadership role in community service activities coordinated through the Campus Ministry/Community Service Office.  Candidates for this award must have already applied and been accepted to Marywood University.

The Maxis-Gillet Service Award is offered on a yearly basis through a re-application process for up to four years.  Contact Campus Ministry to learn more about this opportunity.
