David Jumper, assistant professor of jazz studies and Jupiter Performing Artist, and the Indigo Mood Brass Band (IMBB) joins us for the second concert in our series. Formed in 2008, IMBB members – Nick Driscoll/alto sax, vocals; George Lewandowski/ sousaphone; Tom Hamilton/tenor sax; Gary Rixner/trombone; David Jumper/trumpet; Tyler Dempsey/drums – have performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Bonnaroo (TN) Arts and Music Festival, The French Quarter Festival, and Rochester Jazz Festival. Members have also performed and recorded with many artists throughout the US and Europe, including the famous Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Maynard Ferguson. IMBB is unique to the Northeast—an Authentic New Orleans Brass Band that plays everything from authentic brass band music to today’s hottest in hip-hop, rock, and organic funk.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Due to ongoing construction project adjacent to Memorial Commons, the Sunday concerts for 2014 season are scheduled in the Main Theatre of Sette LaVerghetta Performing Arts Center, 2300 Adams Ave, Scranton, PA.
