Do you have a passion to work with students and support them in their academic growth? Do you want to better yourself as a professional in the field of education? Are you interested in earning your Master’s degree, but are concerned about the time and effort of having to attend classes? Worry not! The Marywood University Education Department is offering an outstanding opportunity for students to earn their Master of Science Degree in Higher Education Administration from the comfort of their own homes. This program is fully online and accessible through your own computer at home.

The Higher Education Administration (HEA) program offers a variety of online coursework specializing in Psychology, Counseling, Education and Higher Education with classes emphasizing some of the following areas:

  • Contemporary Learning Theories
  • Human Development
  • Student Issues in Higher Education
  • Career Development
  • College Finance Strategic Planning
  • and many more!

For students who are enrolled as part time students, the HEA program can be completed in two to three years. However, for full time students, the HEA Program can be completed in as little as 18 months!

In addition to taking classes online, the HEA Program also offers full time (300 hours) and part time (150 hours) internship opportunities during the Fall and Spring semesters. Internship placements allow students to be placed in a respected educational facility and undergo realistic experiences that an administrator in Higher Education is challenged with on a daily basis.

In order to reap the multitude of benefits offered by the HEA programs, students are generally required to have a 3.0 grade point average when completing their undergraduate degrees, two letters of recommendation, and a completed application.

Obtaining a Master’s degree from the HEA Program provides students with a plethora of job options after graduation. Some career opportunities include working at a university for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Academic Advising, Alumni or International Affairs, Career Development, and many more!

HEA Program Coordinator, Dr. Amy Paciej-Woodruff, believes this program to be one of the best offered here at Marywood University, and she wishes to “take special care to ensure that students are interacting and participating in a learning community.” Although this is not typically what students expect when participating in an online program, all of the faculty involved strive to make certain that each student has the chance to take advantage of all of the benefits of this outstanding program.

The Marywood University HEA Program is a revered program of the Education Department and has helped numerous students better themselves as educators and earn a job in the field of Higher Education Administration.
