Marywood's Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department offers undergraduate majors in:

Our Athletic Training program prepares you to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam to become a certified athletic trainer.

Our Exercise Science program is designed for those interested in becoming personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and health and fitness instructors. Students will also be prepared for graduate school in Exercise Physiology and post-graduate work in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physician's Assistant programs.

Program Highlights

  • Small class size
  • Hands-on clinical experiences for four semesters for athletic training students
  • Expansive list of clinical sites: high schools, universities, colleges, and physical therapy clinics for athletic training clinical experiences.
  • Human Physiology Lab is used extensively to provide clinical based experiences for Exercise Science students. The HPL is a state of the art facility located in the Center for Athletics and Wellness.
  • 240 hours of Practicum experience for Exercise Science students.
