Art in Islamic Spain

Art in Islamic Spain Presentation

On April 26th the students of ART 399 (Art of Islamic Spain) will be giving a presentation on the art of Islamic Spain.  The presentation will be at the Comerford Theater (SC 126) beginning at 1:00.  The students will be giving talks on the ornamentation, palaces, gardens, and Mudejar art of Islamic Spain.  This presentation is open to the University.  The presentation will be followed by a small reception in the front lobby of VAC.

DISTINGUISHED VISITING ARTIST LECTURE SERIES

presents a lecture by JUDY PFAFF on Monday April 23 at 3:00 pm.

This special event will take place in Media 160 in the Learning Resources Center at Marywood, and will be followed by a reception in the Shields Visual Arts Center. The lecture and reception are free and open to the public.

As a pioneer of installation art, Pfaff has had over 100 major-solo installations, across the country and abroad at such venues as the Elvehjem Museum of Art, University of Wisconsin, Madison; Denver Art Museum; Saint Louis Art Museum; Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, Ohio; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. Pfaff represented the United States in the 1998 São Paolo Biennial.

The AAF NEPA club awarded gold and silver Addy Awards to Marywood students and faculty on March 2, 2012. Four independent judges reviewed 113+ entries and awarded the following:
