Denise Bosler is an award-winning graphic designer, illustrator, author and professor of Communication Design at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. She earned a B.F.A. from Kutztown University and an M.F.A. from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Denise has focused her design career on print collateral, product packaging, and identity development. She is the author of Mastering Type: The Essential Guide to Typography for Print and Web Design (HOW books 2012) and is currently writing her second book, Creative Anarchy, about learning--and breaking--the rules of design. For the past 10 years, Denise has taught illustration and upper level graphic design classes, allowing her to share her professionally applied and tested knowledge. As a professor, she is known for her obsession with the proper treatment of type, and is frequently heard admonishing her students when they fail to kern accurately.
