Liriodendron tulipifera
Native to eastern United States. A large deciduous tree that easily reaches 70' to 90' tall. Trees of 150' or more are common. Leaves and flowers are tulip shaped. Autumn color is golden yellow. Flowers are yellow green with an orange base. Prefers deep, moist, slightly acidic soils in full sun. Needs ample room to develop. Ahpids and sooty mold could be problematic.
