About the Arboretum
Marywood University has long been known for its natural beauty as well as its academic excellence. The Arboretum at Marywood University combines the best of both of these worlds, emphasizing not only the aesthetic charm of the campus, but also incorporating educational components with the appreciation of the environment.

An arboretum is defined as a place grown with trees or a place where trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants are cultivated for scientific, educational and/or aesthetic purposes.

To date, the Arboretum at Marywood University has 42 species of trees that contain 103 varieties, and a comparable number and variety of shrubs, as well as ornamental grasses, perennial, biennial and annual blooms.
