We've raised $14,000.00 for the Sarah Beth George Memorial Scholarship Fund!

Sarah Beth GeorgeIt is hard to put into words what the life of Sarah Beth George has meant to the Marywood University community, as words will never adequately express the impact she had on so many lives. Sarah, a Biotechnology major and Painting minor, was to graduate in May with the Class of 2009. A native of Lackawaxen, a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, she accomplished more in her brief years than many would in a lifetime. Sarah graduated with honors from Wallenpaupack High School in 2005 and was President-elect of the Marywood Chapter of the American Chemical Society. Well rounded, she regularly made hand-knit items for the homeless with the Marywood Knitting Circle. Also, just after her 21st birthday, she discovered a newfound love for travel while exploring Europe.

Lasting memories of Sarah's quiet determination, sense of adventure, and positive attitude will forever inspire and motivate the members of the Marywood community. Even little things about her have left a lifelong imprint in the minds and hearts of everyone she knew. In the short time that Sarah Beth George was with us, she lived a full, accomplished life. Her spirit will be kept alive forever through memories and experiences that will always give those who knew her a reason to smile.
