You might have lived in Madonna Hall when you were an undergraduate here at Marywood, but boy have things changed! Madonna first opened in 1964 but was recently renovated in 2007. Madonna Hall will be open for guests during Reunion Weekend - you can return to the residence halls this year! So what will you see if you come back for Reunion Weekend and stay on campus? Madonna features adjoining rooms that have a shared bathroom. The rooms range from singles to quads but offer plenty of living space for all. Some of the new features available in Madonna are the kitchen lounge, which is complete with an oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and a complete set of appliances. There is also a Media room that has theater style seating, Bose sound systems, and a drop-down projection screen that is VHS and DVD compatible. There are also wireless community lounges on all floors so you'll be able to check e-mail and do all of your computing if you bring a laptop. Madonna Hall is secured by a card-access that monitors the accessibility of entering the building and each floor. Each resident must present his or her card to enter the building or floor. Madonna also meets all ADA codes. The building is wheelchair accessible and has many ADA style rooms. What's the biggest change at Madonna Hall? It's co-ed. Madonna Hall serves as a coeducational residence hall for upperclassmen. By Kerry Janson, Class of 2012 |
