Marywood is the only institution in the region that offers a bachelor's degree in aviation management in which you can earn a combination aviation management/business degree. Pilots working in the field today find that having a business degree is a great asset to their professional career advancement opportunities. Plus, our program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP).
Our aviation management program includes two tracks:
- Professional pilot/flight operations
- Airport/airline management
Pilot ground instruction is provided on-campus, while flight operations are arranged through an exclusive contract with Wyoming Valley Airport (KWBW), approximately a half hour from Marywood's campus. We offer the following ratings:
- Private pilot
- Instrument rating
- Commercial pilot
- Multi-engine rating
- Certified flight instructor (CFI)
Students who have aircraft operations training and have achieved any of the aforementioned FAA Ratings upon enrollment will receive Marywood University credits in the appropriate ratings area. Likewise, if you are transferring from a community college with an Associates Degree in Aviation Management, you are expected to have successfully completed all of the required ratings. A maximum of 20 credits will be accepted for these ratings.
